PSALM 112:1-10  – THE MAN THAT FEARETH THE LORD
With commentary by Mrs. Ari D. Hidalgo

Psalm 112 – verses 1-10

1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

Shalom dear ones beloved in the LORD,

The Psalm of the day: Psalm 112:1-10 “THE MAN THAT FEARETH THE LORD”, (VERSE 1A).

In Hebrew: ISH: (IS THE MAN) YA-RE: FEARS (TRUST)
YAH-WEH: LORD

In our Scripture today, the Psalmist mentions many wonderful blessings to all who fear (trust) the LORD. Here is one.

THEY WILL BE BLESSED: ASH-REI (BLESSED)
(Verse 1).

“Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.”
(Verse 1).

“Ash-rei ish ya-re et Yahweh be-mitz-vo-tav cha-Fetz’
Me-‘Od.”

In the translation from Hebrew to English …

Blessed (is) the man (who) fears (LORD) in his commandments (Who) delights greatly.

There are many wonderful blessings for all who reverentially trust In the LORD.
Let’s take a look at few more.

Psalm 1.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
(Verse 2).

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doth shall prosper.”
